Hey friends,
Just wanted to say hi to whomever may be reading... hey you :) We have been super busy this past month. Having to relearn some time management skills. But I am happy to be busy, we have been writing with some great people, writing on our own, and making some great connections. There's so many things in the wroks but I dont even want to say anything till things are for sure. Sorry, that was such a tease. Well, I will say that we are going to be playing in Texas next week, that should be fun. I'm loving these radio shows weve been playing. Utica last weekend was fun, though it rained. A lot. Torrential downpour it felt like though it still managed to stay warm and muggy. It was a nightmare for the hair. But I digress... we moved the show inside and made the best of it. And we did an interview in Ithica which was hilraious. We shot a video to 'Ithica Girls' with Mikey the host, it was a parody of Katy Perry's California Girls. Lots of fun. We will hopefully post the link to the video soon.
I'm reading the third book in the Girl With the Dragon tattoo series, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest (wow, long titles to type out, geez lol)... it's really good. So sad that the author Stieg Larsson died before he got to see the success of his novels. I saw the Swedish movie of the first book, I really liked it. It should be interesting to see the Hollywood take on the film. I've heard Daniel Craig is going to play Blomkist... so curious who will play Lisbeth tho.
Anyways, gotta run. Thanks for reading whoever you are! Lots of love to youuuu, oh, and follow us on Twitter! www.twitter.com/carmencamille We are updating it more. Thanks! C1

Hello there,
We got back from Alabama last night... played the Spirit of Freedom Festival which was fun. Lots of families and kids and fireworks :) Thanks to everyone who came out and watched! Now it is back to writing and recording new songs. It's definitly two different mindframes of the job. It's like a lawyer where there is the research part of your job, the time where you are building your case. And then there is the courtroom aspect of the job where your presenting your case to the world. We are juggling the research (writing/recording new songs) with the courtroom (performing/gigs) right now.
I've been watching the Bachelorette this season religiously... yes, I am hooked on that show. Anyone else with me on this one? I didn't see any ofthe Bachelor last season, I think I kinda like the Bachelorette better. I want to be the one getting to pick between all those guys. Most of them seem cool (key word being MOST). So Bachelorette producers, if you are reading this please keep me in mind for next season :)
I have a book reccomendation as well... I just finished a book called 'Little Bee'. I could barely put it down, was done it in 2 days it was so good! Now I am reading Blink by the same author who wrote The Tippping Point. It's good... a lot more intellectual and study based, I like it in smaller doses. And I look forward to reading the Tipping Point as well.
Anyways, random thoughts by Carmen is coming to a close. Thanks for reading. I hope you all have yourself a lovely day filled with cupcakes and rainbows and little puppies that sing songs to you. Later! xx C

Yo-sies...
Drinking my morning tea and thought I would write to you... whoever you are that are reading this. Oh by the way... if you arent already a member of our Carmen and Camille page on Facebook please do join. We are updating it lots with latest news... and there are some cool things in the works. The link to it is... www.facebook.com/carmenandcamille.
Anyways... we recently got back from a trip to Vancouver/Toronto/and New York. It was really fun, we played NXNE in Toronto. We went to the MMVA's which was one of the coolest things I've done in a longtime. It's fun to get all dressed up and rub sholders with your musician peers. We met some Toronto Bluejays who were cool and some peeps from different bands. Still no meeting Justin Beiber. One of these days... lol.
New York was cool cause we got to go to a bunch of different radio stations and music places like Billboard/AOL/Sirius Radio/Z100 etc. Some of those places are already playing our song Shine 4U and some are in the works. It felt cool to be at some of the top places where a lot of the big decisions on who breaks as an artist are made. New York is a cool city. I think I am more of a West Coast person though in general. I like New York though cause I feel like it toughens me up a bit and makes me want to be more direct and assertive.
We play a show in Alabama for the 4th of July next weekend. It should be fun and hot like our gig in Louisiana was. Cant wait! I love playing. Anways... gonna go practice the guitar. Me and Camille wrote a bunch of new songs while we were away and I need to learn them on guitar. Thanks for reading, lots of love to ya... Carm

Why hello there...
Well the countdown is really on to the Half Marathon I'm running this weekend in San Diego. I have been training... I probably could have trained a bit harder but that's life. All I can do now is just do my best on Sunday. Sunday also happens to be me and Cami's birthday! A couple of our girlfriends from Vancouver are even flying down to spend the weekend in San Diego with us! We have the best friends ever. I'm not gonna lie though, I'm kinda nervous about the run! My last long run this past weekend went really bad lol. I went running in 80 degree weather at 2pm and basically gave myself sun stroke. I only did 10 miles instead of 11 miles and my time was not very good. Not exactly a confidence boosting final long run! But at least I know if can only get better lol.
Anyways, gonna stop any disclaimers now... the point of doing this in the first place is that I enjoy running so I need to rmemeber that. The same goes for music. Sometimes I can get caught up in stressing about what goals I still have to reach in my career and business stuff but at the end of the day I do this because I love it.
I hope life is treating you well! Thanks for reading and letting me vent to you about my pre-race jitters :) Lots of love, Carm

Hello dearest readers...
Wanted to share with you some highlights of the Junos this year... we had such a fun time. The whole experience was a whirlwind of fun and work and awesomeness. We went to Toronto before and did Much Music's MOD... dream come true!!! Sarah Taylor interviewed us, she was lovely. We ended up seeing her around in St. John's at the Junos. It was one big happy family over there lol.
We played a show opening for The Steros the night of the awards gala... that was great, a very enthusiastic crowd... I wish we could have stuck around to see the rest of the line-up play but as soon as we finished we had to rush over to the Gala dinner... that is where we found out if we won or not (sadly, no we didnt... all good tho!). That was cool, we got to meet K'naan after and wear beautiful dresses by JC Studios. The Junos were fun as well, I thought it was a great show this year. And after we partied it up at the Universal party. They know how to put on a good party let me tell you.
All in all, so many fun times... an honour to be a part of it really!
2010-03-08
We watched the Oscars last night at a friends place... it was a joint Oscar party slash dogs birthday party. There was pizza because it is the dog's favorite food. There was a cake for the dog. She blew out her candles. She wore a birthday dress.
Only in LA :)
2010-03-06
Wow...
Well it has been a pretty fanstastic week... Camille and I got our first ever Juno nomination! I still can't beleive it! We are sooooo happy. It's one of those moments where you have to stop to smell the roses and just be extremely grateful because this is something we have always dreamed of! There is still so much I want to do but this is definitely a pinch yourself moment. We will be making the journey all the way to St. John's, Newfoundland mid-April for all the Juno festivities. This will actually be the second time were in Newfoundland. Well, technically we went to Labradour when we did a Canadian Military Tour. We did two shows in Goose Bay Labradour. It was soooo neat. We got screeched in too! (For those of you who dont know it's a tradition over there of standing barefeet in some fern, drinking a potent shot and kissing a fish... hahaha that probably sounds very odd to those who dont know about it). I think were gonna stop by Toronto on the way there too which is cool. I love Toronto. And of course there is the finding of a dress to wear :) Not gonna lie, I likethat part.
Oh by the way, our Vancouver gig was great... we had THE BEST TIME in Vancouver!!! It was awesome. Soooooo cool to see your city all crazy with Olympic spirit! Everyone was happy and joyous and friendly and partying on the streets. We only got to experience it for a couple days but we made the most of those days!
Anyways, I hope you are all having a good weekend so far. We have girlfriend staying over tonight, excited to have girly time. Sending my love to all of ya, xx C

Why hello there...
Were back in VanCity again, just realized I was here the last time I wrote a diary entry. We play a show on Sunday during the Olympics! Yeeee Hawwwww! It's at the Yaletown Main Stage at 5:30pm on Sunday. Cant wait to experience, the vibe, fun, excitement, energy I keep hearing all about. We rehearse for the next couple of days, cant wait to get on stage again! And Jaqueline Conoir is dressing us for the show wich is super cool. Love her clothes. And I'm also looking forward to checking out the free concerts going on right now. Including Deadmau5 on Friday night.
I got some Vancouver 2010 Olympic Mittens from my parents which I'm stoked about (is stoked a Canadian thing to say?)... I sure do notice the Canadian accent more since being in LA for a while now. If I get asked one more time to say 'out and about 'when I'm in LA... geez ;)
Anyways, gotta go get ready for rehearsal. We have to rent a guitar and mandolin (guitar for me, mandolin for Cami)... it's just too much now carrying an electric , acoustic , and mandolin for Camille and a acoustic for me. And then suitcases... it's getting out of control but that's the joys of playing instruments. I'm not complaining. I hope you guys are having an amazing week! Sending my love to you all and wishing all the athleltes luck in the Olympics! Mwah! xx C

Greetings...
We are in our motherland of Vancouver right now. Came here from Toronto after a very kick a@# video shoot. What a fun time. Our director Aaron A. was awesome, the dancers were awesome, the production team The Field was awesome... lots of awesome all around. From what I got to see on the monitors it looked very cool. Should be a couple of weeks till we see the final result, cant hardly wait. It was a fun time in TO, got to see a bunch of familiar faces. We hadnt been to Toronto in months, I really do like that city. And we saw Avatar which was quite the experience. I understand what all the hype was about.
Were in the midst of rehearsals for our gig in Boston coming up. Then its back to LA to get into a routine again. Looking forward to that. We are going to be on a writing rampage when we get back. And I have to give a shout out to my friend Matt who got a Golden Globe nomination for Glee. So proud of him! He is a testament that working hard and following your dream can pay off.
That's all for now peeps... gotta go hit the gym and work off the cookie dough ice cream I ate last night. Lots of love, xx Carm
2010-01-07
See, I told you I'd write more frequently! But consistency will be the real test. Anyways, today was a cool day. We ended up meeting Mark Hoppus, the bass player from Blink-182 and Camille even got to play some guitar on a project he's working on. Fun times. And then we went to spin class with our cute instructor Edward. He is a gorgeous man and a great spin class instructor but sadly for me, he likes guys. No fair :)
It was sunny again in LA today... I dont mean to brag here people if you are reading this from a colder climate area. I just am really still getting used to this! I get confused what month it is almost every day because it is not normal for me to be walking around in shorts the first week of January. I almost feel like I'm on permanant vacation.
We leave on Sunday for Toronto to film our music video... seriously cant wait for that. Then we go back to Vancouver to rehearse then to Boston for our gig in Brockton, MA Jan.22nd. More packing must be done... and now you cant bring a carry on besides your purse. This is not good for Cami and I. Packing light is not our strong suit, I must admit. But in our defence, we do have to carry at least one guitar, usually two so that cuts into our clothes/shoes suitcases.
Anyways friends... I am lying in bed writing this and getting very sleeeeeeeepy... I hope you are all having a smashing 2010 so far. Later! Much love, xx Carm
2010-01-06
Yo yo yo...
Sitting here at home in LA, just practiced with Camille for a long time and my hands feel like they're gonna fall off from the guitar. We are getting very excited for our video shoot coming up. And by excited I mean I am hungry and tired from the gym :) We are hitting the gym lots and eating very healthy right now. Wanna look and feel great at the shoot :)
Christmas this year was really lovely, Santa was good to me. Got my usual PJ's and books, a jewellery case for travelling which Camille and I desparately needed, more board games (I love board games), some stuff for our new place, and a whole bunch of make-up and beauty products. Very practical. More importantly tho I got to be with people I love, make a gingerbread house, decorate our tree, go snowboarding, and just overall feel Chritmasy. And throw in going to a couple Christmas parties. Or throw in going to a lot of Christmas parties... there was no shortage of xmas festivities going down. Good times. The best present I got tho at the end of this year was our song Shine 4U being added to radio stations across Canada. Yaaay!!!! Please request it if you can... there is a list of stations and emails on our Myspace.
One of the books I got for xmas is called The Gargoyle and it's about a burn patient who meets this schizophrenic woman while he's in the burn ward. The moral of this story here tho is that I feel extremely bad for anyone who has experienced severe burns. The book is quite graphic, to the point where I felt neaseaus sometimes reading it but I've learned lots about what the recovery is for a patient with extreme burns. My heart goes out to anyone who has gone/is going through it! xx
Anyways, not sure where that came from. Good things ahead tho peeps. Were playing a show in Brockton , MA Jan. 22nd for a really really good cause. Go to afathersfight.net for more info on the documentray we are playing at the screening of.
I think I am going to go to bed. Thanks for reading and I am going to try and write more frequently again... I swear :) Lots of love to yous... xx Carm

Were baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!
Were back from our UK tour and words really can't describe how amazing it was. Probably 3 of the most fun, rewarding weeks of my life. I would just wander around saying to myself 'Universe, please let me do this for the rest of my life'. We played some great shows, got to do some interviews, a TV performance on Channel M in Manchester, went to some crazy British parties, met loads of people, drank loads of tea, rode some trains, saw the countryside, tried haggis and blood pudding, went to the Pink concert in Nottingham, played with some great bands... I could go on and on lol.
Really good times all around. We are in a bit of a post tour depression lol, this always happens but generally new tunes can come from that so we shall see what unfolds this time. There are a couple things right now that I'm feeling that I would like to turn into a song and I'm sure Camille has lots of ideas. We are driving back to LA from Vancouver tomorrow or the next day, road trip for us twinnies, should be good. Weve never done a road trip like this the two of us. And then we get to sleep in our own beds for the first time in a month and a half! Not that I am complaining, if I could I would go back to London right now!
Excited to take some guitar lessions when I get to LA, I really enjoyed playing the guitar for our gigs in the UK. It was a first for me and I'm sold! Anyways, gotta learn a song with Camille that we are singing at our girlfriends wedding in a few weeks. Lots of love to you all, and last of all.. my thoughts are with all of the soldiers past and present who have given their lives or served their country. I send you my love and appreciation into the universe... thank you xx

Greetings,
I'm sitting at my parents place right now. We are back in Vancouver (well, technically White Rock right now) gearing up for our UK Tour. I'm just a wee bit excited to say the least. We start rehearsals Wednesday and have some preparation before that. I'm not super impressed that I'm feeling under the weather, my throat is not happy. I'm just trying to get lots of rest and be super healthy before the tour. Can't wait to play gigs!!! It's been a little while and I feel like I've grown as a person and I can't wait to see how that translates on stage. Our last couple weeks in LA were pretty awesome. Gotta love the heat wave they had, though it involved a lot of sweating. Not complaining though. I'm curious what the weather will be like when we get back in November. Saw some celebs, Justin Timberlake, Sloan from Entourage (who I think is SO beautiful), Zach Braff (again), Dane Cook (again). Our girlfriends who were visiting were quite excited that they managed to end up in an episode of the Hills. Fun times.
Tonight were going to check out a fashion show for BC Fashion Week, JC Studios. We went last year and it was amazing, can't wait to see what she's come up with this season.
I'm gonna go try and talk Camille into taking care of me and making me soup or something. Or some tea. I have a feeling this isnt gonna work but I'm gonna try... twins gotta look after their almost-but-not-really-sick twinnies! Love ya lots, Carm

Why hello there,
I have not been on the computer barely at all for the last while, hence the no writing for several days. We went to the Hollywood Bowl for the first time the other night to see a band called Pink Martini. It was such a magical experience, watching a concert under the stars, wearing shorts even and not getting cold. The band was amazing, it's more of an orchestra actually that plays music from around the world. I definitely want to see a show there again. Maybe next time pack a picnic which you can do there.
I had my first ever Pilates class today which was cool. I wasnt really thinking and wore these loose fitting shorts which was slightly awkward when your flailing your legs around one on one with the teacher (it was a girl teacher fortunetly). The weather here is just gorgous, weve only laid by the pool once since weve moved here, gotta do that again before we go back to Vancouver for rehearsals. I'm getting really excited for our UK tour. Cant wait to post the dates and stalk all of our UK friends to come ;)
We have a writing session tonight with a fellow musician from Vancouver who lives here now as well. Weve written with him before and it was great fun, cant wait to see what we come up with next. Actually we co-wrote the song Sensible that is on our 'Dont Play Me Out' EP.
Off to practice guitar... lots of love to ya, Carm

Hey there...
It's another sunny day in La La land. It really is nice to wake up to sun everyday. I'm so happy right now, our tour to the UK is all coming together. I can't wait to get over there! I can't wait to playa shows, drink tea and eat scones with jam, go shopping, go see live music, visit all of our UK friends that I miss terribly. We go back to Vancouver in less than 10 days to start rehearsals for the tour. Kinda annoying, were JUST getting settle in in LA and are now back to to Vancouver for a while before we head to the UK but I am NOT complaining!!! We need new luggage I think, as we will be packing for over a month of being away. Camille and I are notouriously bad with luggage. It takes a beating with us. Proabably cause we cram every last available space with clothes/shoes/musical insturments/etc.
We went to the opening of this new club M-12 or D-10 or something the other night. I can't remember the name, it's the old Foxtail though. Anyways, it was lots of fun. Made some new friends. Good times. And we got our gym membership last night. Get this... they have a program where industry people (like actors/musicians) just have to bring in headshots and they get their membership for better than half price. We brought in a CD and some promo pics we have... only in Hollywood huh? Love it. And can't wait for spin class and Fame dance class tonight. Yippee!
Gotta run though... thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings... have yourself an amazing day filled with pink fairy dust sprinkled on your little noses (? huh?) Lots of love, Carmi

Hey you,
So I have discovered something about myself through this move. I am not good at unpacking. I dread it. I am very good at procrastinating and not doing it. I should post a picture somewhere of our belongings all sitting in the center of our living room. Still sitting there. My mission is to finish assembling our beds today :) And were still trying to decide where to set up our little home studio. Hmmm...
We went for another lovely dinner last night to Kaytana's, a very nice sushi restaurant on Sunset. Good food, good company. Then we went to The Belmont where they have Karaoke on Sunday nights. Me and Camille did our tried and true song 'Sweet Child of Mine'. Note to oneself... next time make sure to request the Sheryl Crow version... I love the G n' R version but there's too many bloody solos and long musical intros and interludes! And they played the radio edit which then cut off the entire end (the 'where do we go' part). Good ol' Karaoke... I cant help but feel like even the best singer in the world doen'st walk away from singing at a Karaoke joint going... 'wow, I really nailed that' lol .
I'm sad I missed the VMTV awards last night. Curious what jokes Rusell Brand had up his sleeve. I did see a clip of Kanye's little comment during Taylor Swift's speech. Oh dear. Publicity stunt at it's finest.
Hope all of you are doing great and your day is filled with rainbows, unicorns and cupcakes... xo C

Nighty night...
Just went to a lovely dinner with a friend we met in Ibiza. It feels good to solidify travelling connections in a real environment. I ate lobster and steak at a very yummy restaurant called Dan Tana's. Good times.
Our belongings are officialy moved in to our place!!! Having now looked at all of our belongings sitting in a pile in our living room I am wondering why I paid by wieght to have most of it shipped here. So much unpacking has to take place. I realize this is normal moving stuff to deal with. I just dont want to do it. My new motto is if I have to actually think about where to put something or if I need it in my place I should probably get rid of it. But don't worry people, we always donate our old clothes/books/shoes/ etc.
I thought I would be clever right now but I feel kinda tired and generic. Tomorrow is a fun filled day of unpacking. I will try and think of something clever to write before then. Oh, and celebrity sightings today... we saw Zach Braff (I'm sure I spelt that wrong... he's from Scrubs and Garden State tho) at Baja Fresh. And Mickey from the old TV show the Monkeys.
May the force be with you... xo C-diddy

Bonjour!
Geez I am on Day 3 of writing in a row! Let's see how long I can keep this up shall we? Just practiced guitar... I really want to play a song or two for our UK tour. Just gotta keep practicing. My goal is to for sure play our song Love on Fire... which none of you have heard yet. We wrote it with the same guy we wrote Shine 4U with.
We went out last night and met up with 3 out of our 10 friends we have in LA lol. Were slowly but surely making new friends. Still need to find some kick ass girls though. We have some really good girlfriends at home and nothing beats being able to hang with and open up to girls. Saw some celebs (James Vanderbeek from Dawson's Creek, Shanna Moakler, Eliza Dushku, etc)... we even got papparazzi'd at the end of the night. We were like 'really? you really want our picture?'. Must have been a slow night lol.
The movers finally arrive today... or so they say. Why am I starting to feel like they are having a giant yard sale with all of our stuff? Kidding, they should be here any minute. I'm very dissapointed though, we will have to miss our spinning class with the cute teacher. I was really excited to see if Camille will fall off her bike again. Oh well, there's always next class :)
Anyways... I shall speak with you crazy cats tomorrow I suppose. When I will actually be writing from my own apartment with my belongings in it... fingers crossed.
x to the o Carm

First of all I have to send my love to all those affected by 9/11... you are in my prayers. We wont forget this tragedy. xx
Second of all, I have to say that I told you I would write more! See, I'm doing it!!! I have decided that I want to document my new life in LA. It's a new day and things feel new and exciting and I want to remember these feeling and experiences and write about them before I become bitter and jaded. Haha kidding. If taht hasnt happened by now its never gonna happen. It's not in my nature I dont think.
Anyways, Camille and Iare the newest additions to Crunch gym It is my new favorite thing in the world. We went to an awesome gym in Vancouver 'Le Physique' (shout out to my Le Physique peeps... what what!) but we are digging Crunch cause of all the classes. We went to our first eve spin calss which was frickin awesome. The best parts are, first of all, our teacher is extremely attractive. I find it easier to motivate myself when there is a cute man cycling in front of me. Sad but true. Second of all, during the class Camille tipped over her bike which was hilarious. It's obviously only funny because she didnt hurt herself. The poor thing couldnt get her foot thing back on the pedal thing after either for at least 5 minutes (it had fallen off, and as you can see by my lack of terminology, I have no idea about spinning). We met the cute teacher after calss and he hadnt noticed Camille spill.
Tomorrow we get our belongings from the movers... finally. Can't wait to not live out of a suitcase. And we are in search of a fridge. Didnt notice until we arrived that our place doesnt have a fridge haha oops. Oh, and we have another spinning class. Hee hee
Loving life though and I wish you all happiness and health and all those good things... xxxxx Carm

Wow...
Feeling a little bit embarrased right now at how long it's been since I wrote a diary entry on here. Between Myspace blogs, Facebook updates and Youtube I am sad to say my diary has fallen by the wayside. Anyways... moving on, will try and not let that happen again peeps. I know you are desperately waiting for my next entry ;)
This summer has been an amazing one. We ended up going to Spain not once but TWICE. I was spoiled. I admit it. We met some really cool people along the way. Hung out with tonnes of British people in Ibiza. Perfect timing as we are planning a UK tour for the middle of August. Dates are in the works, we will be harrasing you when they are finalized. I'm so excited to drink tea and feel cool in England. And now we have friends in almost every city which is a warm and fuzzy feeling.
Oh, did I mention were moving to LA? That's kind of a big deal in our lives. It has consumed much of our time since we got back from Spain. We have learned lots, as Camille put it, mostly what not to do lol. But it is happening finally and we couldnt be happier. I will keep you posted on things. Thanks for writing and I am sending you my love through this keyboard :)
xx Carmelita

Happy St. Patty's day! I'm lying in bed right now writing on my laptop. Oh, the joys of modern day technology, it allows me to be so lazy : )
We got back last night from being gone for a month to LA and Toronto. CMW was such an amazing time, seriously seriously so good. We got to check out a bunch of shows we wanted to see like Carly Rae Jepson, Katy Perry, Buckcherry, Mother Mother, We are the City, Chris Cadell, Shiloh, Lights... the list goes on and on... we even got to do a little impromptu song with Chris Cadell the other night at the Orbit Room. Basically I feel really grateful to be a musician right now and have nothing but good things to say about all my peeps in TO. We have found ourselves in a wonderful circle of people over there who truley beleive in us and support what we do. I'm going on and on here but I just feel really blessed.
We are very excited to be doing some more recording with Ryan Stuwart who produced Carly Rae Jepson's album. We did one song with him already and we dig it so much we have to do more. It feels good to be getting all the new tunes together, slowly but surely my friends. Gonna drag my lazy self out of bed though but wanted to start my day by writing to you... lots of love and all that good stuff... xo Carmen

Howdy... I'm just chillin in my hotel room in TO and thought I should write and say hi. We have been travelling lots lately, we spent the past 3 weeks in LA. I really do like it there, the weather amd the feeling of so many people trying to 'make it', I find it exciting. We shot our reality TV show pilot which was a new experience. We shot a bunch of scenes in different locations in LA. The cast was great, I really cant wait to see the finished product! We also did some recording with Grammy nominated producer Tal Herzberg. How lucky did I feel. My goal is to witn a Grammy with Tal. You gotta dream big : )
Also we got to record on the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus. We won a day of recording through Our Stage and we recorded a video and recording of the Led Zeppelin cover 'Battle of Evermore', as well as a recording of a new song Cami and I wrote called 'Battle Scars'. I love that song, cant wait for you all to hear it! And thanks to Tyler, Doug and Erik on the bus who were so cool.
We play a show here for Canadian Music Week this Thursday... cant wait. Our last two shows in LA were acoustic so I look forward to rockin out with the band. Better let Camille get on the computer though, she's sitting beside me playing her guitar and she wants to write a new entry too. Lots of love to you all though! xo Carm

Hey,
Just thought I'd say a quick hello... currently we are in Trenton, ON in the middle of rehearsals for the latest Canadian Military tour we are on. I'm quite excited, Alen Frew gets in today (singer from Glass Tiger)... he will be doing songs like Dont Forget Me When I'm Gone and Someday which makes me happy. I Iove those tunes. Right now were at a military base and are about to head over to catch lunch. Were on military time so you go to the Galley it's called and eat at the scheduled hours or your out of luck : )
We have had al of our measurments taken for when we get our arctic gear so we are excited about that. The big briefing is tonight so I will keep you posted on how everything goes. Anyways, Camile is here to get me... love y'all! Carm

Well well well...
We are in Toronto now, it's great to finally get to experience this city. I came here once by myself about 6 years ago for the fun of it but it was only for a few days and non-music related. We have been rehearsing for our shows and freezing our buts off I might add : ) It reaches lows of minus nine which I can't say I am all that used to. I feel like I should be on a ski mountain or something. But we have stayed bundled up and I'm actually wondering which is worse, really cold weather or the rain we get in Vancouver? Anyways, we play our first show of the trip tomorrow in Ottawa. Then we have a few shows in TO, then a show in Kingston on Saturday. Were basically in gig mode so that's all I really have to talk about.
Oh yeah! We got the Canadian Military we applied for to the North Pole! We go directly from our tour here to go rehearse for that tour. We will be sharing the stage with such talented artists as Alan Frew from Glass Tiger, Patricia Conroy, Jenny Galt (our hometown friend which is awesome... were gonna have fun on this tour) and Sierra Noble. That will be another two weeks of touring which we couldn't be more pleased about. I'm sure the men and women guarding our North Pole up there could use some company : )
Were just chillin' in the hotel room right now watching Meet the Barkers. We drive tomorrow to Ottawa and then have our show so I should probably get my rest. I'm definitely a night owl and have to force myself to go to bed. I've been doing better though about getting up early. Even when I was young I wasnt a morning person but I hope that is changing!
Thanks for reading. You are great, you really are... lots of love to ya! xo Carm

Yo yo yo,
Were back home now after being gone for 3 weeks. First we were in LA, we played a gig which went very well and went to the World Magic Awards which were so much fun. People performed magic instead of giving a speech which made for a good show. Then we left on an Armed Forces Entertainment tour for 2 weeks to Egypt and Crete. It was soooooooo much fun. We got to visit the pyramids which was very cool. We walked to the middle of one of the pyramids, it's this tiny walkway that they warn is claustraphobic and tall people have to lean way over to fit. We also rode a camel and tried scuba diving for the first time in the Red Sea. What an experience. There were so many cool experiences, we even got to ride in a Blackhawk helicopter with the doors open on either side. So cool.
Anyways, basically it was the trip of a lifetime. We met so many amazing people who made us feel right at home. But we are back in Vanocuver right now planning our next moves... mwah ha ha!!!!! We leave in a few weeks to play our first shows in Ontario! Very exciting, I cant beleive we havent played in TO yet... and if any of you know people there spread the word we are coming! Please and thank you... anyways, I'm still jet lagged and may go to bed now. I hope you are all doing very well, lots of love! xo

Hello there my fellow friends,
I just wanted to say hi and drop a line at the new website! If your reading this you will have gathered that we have a newbsite already I guess : ) I am writing from home in Vancouver currently. We have been in the studio the past several weeks, the new tunes are sounding very cool. We have a trumpet in one of the songs, and I play the flute in a couple of the songs. Our producer Howard Redekopp is a very nice guy who was fun to work with. He would have his German Shepard Fanny with his which was fun. Camille is mildly scared of dogs and so we had to break her in gently and work through her fear with her. Lol. It wasn't uncommon to hear Camille say the words "Fanny, dont eat me!".
Our trip to LA was dope by the way. That is one crazy city! All of our meetings went really well and we are now talking about going back in a few weeks to follow up with some things. We went to a couple VMA parties as well which were neat. We posted a viseo on YouTube of us before we went out one night (www.youtube.com/user/carmenandcamille). It was a very successful trip though work-wise and I cant wait to go back.
I hope September is treating you all very well. I am just trying to come to terms with the fact that summer is over here. Not cool! Summer is my favorite season and it's always a touch depressing to see it go! : ) Anyways, thanks for reading, leave us a comment on Myspace if you wanna say hi. We do read our Myspace and try and write back as much as we can. Cause we love you!!! Take care, Carm

Yo yo yo,
Well... I did it yesterday. I got my nose pierced! I had wanted to about two years ago and never did and yesterday I decided to grab life by the nostrils and just do it! Camille has footage of it, maybe I'll post it on YouTube. Good times, though I look a little nervous in the footage. Im surprised by how little it hurts.
We are back from perfroming on the Maury Show last week in New York. It was a whirlwind of a trip but very cool. The caliber of twins and triplets we shared the stage with was impressive. And Maury was nice. We even got him up and dacing! We are off to LA next week to have some meetings, do some writing and do an interview. I really am looking forward to going back to LA. I like it there, I could definitely call it home one day.
I'm reading the book 'Shantaram' right now and it's soooooo good. The short version of what it's about is that it's based around an escaped fugitive who lives in India in the slums and all the crazy crazy things that happen to him. It's a rather long book (almost 1000 pages) and I cant put it down. Anyways, if you have the chance you should read it.
I hope you are all making the most of the final days of summer! Love you all! Carmi

Woo hoo!
A dream of mine was realized on Tuesday when we played on MTV's TRL!!! Next to winning a Grammy, playing live on MTV has always been a life goal and now I can check it off the list! Well... that's not entirely true, next time I would like to be the main guest on TRL! You have to keep dreaming big : ) We were lucky enough to be picked for the 'On The Radar' segment where they feature up and coming unsigned bands. Can't complain about that. And thank you to all of you who have written us on Myspace to say hi and that you watched the show. It means a lot when people show some love. Above is a picture of us in Times Square before we went inside MTV's building.
New York was a bit of a whirlwind trip. We did have the chance to visit Ground Zero and pay our respects though. It put things in perspective, that's for sure. It seems like the new construction will be nice, they have a drawing of what it's going to look like there.
Next we are playing for the Canadian Military overseas! We get to sing to the men and women who are putting their lives at risk every day. I can't wait! It's pretty top secret, we don't know exactly where were going, which makes it even more exciting...
Keep checking back here and our Myspace, we are going to put up some pictures from the TRL trip... thanks for reading! All the best to you, Carm

DVD Release and what's next...
Hey friends, I just wanted to drop a line and thank those who made it out to our DVD release party in Vancouver. We had a blast at the show, so thanks to those helped make it a success. Highlights included Jefferey's MC'ing and tribute to our Mom at the end of the show, my flute teacher Randy coming up and playing with us for Fantasy ,and showing our DVD in between sets (above is the cover of our Live DVD... to give you a sneak peak...).
As for the future for Cami and I, we are gearing up to go back to LA in a few weeks. We get to perform for the people at MTV in their LA studios! It's our prize for winning the VMTV Battle of the Bands. It will be accoustic with us and one more guitar player. I can't wait to go back to sunny Cali. No offense Vancouver, I love ya, but I need a little more from you weather wise!
Anyways, I'm saying a little prayer for all those who have been affected by the earthquakes and storms recently around the globe. My problems seem so insignificant. Much love to all of you, C#1 (I'm 2 minutes older)

Anthems, Whistler and Cleanses... Oh My!
Hey friends,
This year has been kicking but so far and I feel bad that I have not been keeping you in the loop! Were back from a quick trip to LA last weekend to sing the anthem at the Lakers game... such a cool experience (the pic up top is of us on the JumboTron!). We got to eat dinner at the Staples Center before the game, then we went to our seats which were the second row! Diana Ross sat right in front of us and there were several celebs there incluing Val Kilmer, Jack Nicholson, and Joey McIntire (for those of you who were New Kids On the Block fans). We sang the anthem and it went off without a hitch. They are going to be giving us a DVD of it so we will try and post that up on here and our Myspace when we get it. It was the most people weve ever sang in front of, I think there were around 18-thousand people!!!
Next we sing the anthems at the Canucks game April 1st. We are very excited to represent at our home team! Go nuckies!!! We will be in Vancouver the next month or two and are getting ready for an accoustic gig on April 2nd at the Backstage Lounge. Were working on more dates around Vancouver as well as maybe going down the West Coast again so we'll keep you posted on that.
We had a really really fun gig in Whistler a few weeks ago, thanks Robbie for setting that up! It was fun playing and then snowboarding the next day. We weren't exactly the first people up on the mountain but better late than never I guess. The conditions were beautiful and I was reminded that every time I go to Whislter I have so much fun.
Last but not least, Cami and I are on a cleanse. Were doing the Master Cleanse (think Beyonce before her role in Dreamgirls) and are on day 3. Wish us luck! Were going till day 10 and it's getting easier by the day. It's something I've always wanted to try and thought I would give it a shot while were settled at home.
Thanks for taking time out of your day to read my ramblings... much love, Carmen

Oh Canada!
We had the amazing opportunity to sing the anthems at the Canucks game 2 nights ago. What a dream come true. We got to do a sound check before then sing our little guts out in front of lots of people. And when it's your home team it means even more. Too bad we lost. I was really hoping we would have won, hopefully we win the next 2 games.
It was a wirlwind few days, the next morning (yesterday morning) we had to be at Global News at 7:30am (ewww) and we song 2 songs on their Morning show and were interviewed up at the news desk with the hosts. It was loads of fun, everyone was really nice and supportive. It brought back lots of memories for me. I interned at Global for a few months when I went to BCIT for Broadcast Journalism several years ago. I spent many many days in that news room learning from some of the best in BC. Good times.
Then last night we did an accoustic gig at the Backstage Lounge. I'm excited to play there again with the full band Friday, May 9th. We always have so much fun there with the band. It is a halfway nice day today so I may go play pitch and put. Gotta get outdoors and be active while I can!
Thanks for listening, lots of love to ya, Carmi

Happy New Years!!!
(the above pic is from our performance on Urban Rush this month, a local Vancouver show... we sang Lose My Voice)
One last day in the year of 2007 and when I look back I realize what an amazing year this has been. We have traveled lots, played lots of kick butt gigs, been in the VMTV contest (which is over in a week!!!... keep voting!!!), made lots of new friends/fans, and laid the foundation to take off in the comng months (fingers crossed). We have formed an amazing team behind us which include you guys (yeah... you!).
And next... 2008! I have a feeling this is going to be a big year for us. We are working with the wonderful Rocky Mount Entertainment which are booking us some pretty cool gigs coming up. We are on the road again on January 19th for about 3 weeks. We will be hitting up Boston, New York, Seattle, and LA with some other places in between. Weve been settled in for a while and I really am itching to play some more shows.
Tonight I will ring in the new year with friends in Vancouver. I wish all of you the best of fortune in the new year. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking time out of your busy lives to care about ours. Hugs and kisses...

Virtual Worlds
Camille and I did a vmtv.com in-world appearance yesterday which was pretty darn cool. We walked around in real time and met real people (well... real people's avatar characters). We met fans, made some new friends and handed out Carmen and Camille merch. We are both new to this avatar/ virtual world thing. It's been quite the eye opener doing this contest and seeing what sort of computer things are out there now.
We will be doing another possibly on Monday night and then one for sure on Wednesday the 21st. That will be between 5pm and 8pm PST. Come sign up, vote for us and visit us in virtual land! They will announce the winner of this round too I believe on Wednesday and then the next round of 2 different bands begin. If we get enough votes we will be in a final round after Dec. 5th so keep checking back on when to vote for that.
Thank you to everyone who is suppporting us in this... every vote counts to get us for sure into the next round so THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Also, Cami and I want to thank everyone who made our video shoot in Arlington this past Saturday a huge success! Cant wait for it to be done! xo Carmen
2007-11-13

Video shoot...
We had a very fun and successful video shoot over the weekend. The video is of us live in concert... it was cool because it felt more like a 'show' than a regular club gig. We had giant scrims with our silhouettes on them, a projector and visuals up behind us. I have a new wireless flute mike so I can walk around when I play. (The pic above is me on my knees for my flute solo!). The video should be done the first week or so in December we will be selling it so we will keep you posted on that.
We are going to be on Urban Rush in Vancouver on Friday the morning after we return from the Boston area (this Friday the 16th). That should be fun and then of course there is the VMTV contest we are in right now. If you haven't voted yet.... PLEASE PLEASE go vote right now! We really really want to win and every vote counts if we make it to the next round.
Tomorrow we do some overdubs for the video. Tonight we tried some new song ideas with the band and worked on a caver song... 'Living In A Dream' by the Arcangles. Love that song! Me and Cami are in our hotel room about to watch Evan Almighty before we go to sleep. Nighty night! xo Carm

Hotel Lobby
Currently I'm sitting in our hotel lobby in Rhode Island and thought I should say hi. We are here rehearsing for the live DVD we are shooting in one week today. We arrived yesterday and got to it right away with a rehearsal last night and one again today. We are going to have lights and an audience and some visuals and I think it's gonna be a cool show if I do say so myself.
We had a very fun and busy Halloween. We even went to see Heart play, one of our favorite bands. They were soooooooo good! It was my second time seeing them and it was just as great as the first time. Thanks Robin for making those tickets happen!
The Virtual Kaya Battle of the Bands contest is starting soon. We are up against another band... if you guys would like to vote for us you can go to VMTV.com and click on Virtual Kaya's page. You have to make your own virtual character when you sign up and then you can vote for us! It's pretty cool in there... you walk around in real time and interact with other characters that are logged in. Or you can just vote for us : )
That's all for now folks... off to rehearsal! Much love, Carmi

Rainy days in Vancouver... (with our cat Max, seen above)
Hey friends. Time to say hi and give you the latest in me and Camille's lives. Right now we are getting ready to shoot some footage of us playing accoustically. Were doing that here in Vancouver with the talented Colin Bazant at Blue Pencil Productions. Then we are heading to Boston to shoot a live DVD. That should take place around the beginning of November. We are going to be able to sell this DVD as well as pass all of the footage over to MTV who we are doing some things with over the next few months. There is a contest we are going to be a part of...that's all I will say for now. But it's an exciting time for us!
Other than that I'm figuring out about what to be for Halloween. It's between little Bo Peep and Heidi (basically a Swiss looking girl). I have no idea what I'm doing yet but it's fun to dress up, even if your just handing out candy at home.
Lots of love! xoCarmen

Sleepy time...
I thought I'd write a quick hello before I go to bed. Cami and I are in LA right now and for a few meetings. We had the chance to thank the MTV people yesterday for playing our songs and being so supportive to an up and coming indie band such as ourselves.
Our show went really really well in Vancouver. Thanks to everyone who made it out. We got to try out a few new tunes that seemed to go over well. We played them with a cello player which was a nice touch. It brought me back to band days in high school... yes, I was a band geek and I'm proud of it! : ) There is nothing greater than the feeling of almost 100 people coming together to make one perfect piece of music. I can't wait for the days when we get a full orchestra behind us for a show!
That's all she wrote for me... I'm getting very sleeeeepy. Much love, Carmi
2007-09-18

Last night I watched me and Cami's song 'I Will Never' played on MTV's TV show The Hills! That was pretty cool. It was short but I'm not complaining! We are also going to be played on the MTV shows My Super Sweet 16 and Newport Harbour. We aren't sure when or which songs but we'll keep you posted when we find out.
We are back in Vancouver now after an AMAZING time in LA, Boston, Budapest and New York. LOCOFEST in Boston was crazy, we signed autographs after we played for 45 minutes! Thanks to everyone who waited in line to take pics, say hi, buy a CD, get an autograph, etc. It made our day, it really did.
We play this Friday night in Vancouver. Our band that we've gotten really tight with in Boston wont be joining us for this gig, sniff sniff. The whole CAN/US border and visa's, it just didn't make sense to bring em' up for one gig. BUT, we will be playing with some great local guys so if your in the area, drop by. If not, come to a show when we are near you!!!
I'm going to go practice some new songs that we are unveiling this Friday. Some are REALLY new and I'm hoping to not forget the words : ) Thanks for reading though and we'll talk soon...
xo Carm

This and that... (this pic is of me before soundcheck in Budapest at the Kings on Ice show at the SYMA Center Arena)
Hello my friends, I am long overdue for a Diary entry right now. Currently, I am in Boston getting ready to play 3 shows this weekend. We are playing at a club in Boston Friday nght, at an oudoor bar in Brooksfield on Satruday, and then the BIG show LOCOBAZOOKA on Sunday. Woo hoo! It should be a very fun weekend. We have some new gear we've been working with and a new intro we may integrade into the show.
We had a whirlwind trip to Budapest a few days ago. In and out to play one show for 5000 people. It was great, we have some video footage of that we will try and get up here soon. May not be able to though until we get home in a couple weeks. After our shows in Boston we are heading to NY again to play a showcase. Then it's maybe back to LA for a meeting, that's still to be determined though.
And then, it's back home to get ready for our show in Vancouver!!! We havent played there in a long time so we are excited. It wont be with our regular band, we will be using a great local band. It's hard to start over AGAIN with a different band but these gys are greatand I'm sure they will do us very proud. And me and Camille are going to try out a bunch of new songs accoustically first to see how you folks like em.
Big hugs... Carmen

Home again!
Hey all, we are back home now from a month away. Three weeks of music in Budapest and then a week of vacation in Florence, Italy. What a beautiful city Florence is. Lots of statues and great food. I basically lived on a diet of pasta and gelato and somehow didn't gain wait. I think it's becasue everyone there lives well and enjoys life and I tried to do the same.
As for Hungary, it was quite a trip. We got to play in front of some larger audiences and work on ourselfs as performers. I definitely have grown. Thanks to all the peeps over there who made it such an enjoyable experience.
Currently I am at home visiting my parents and cats (that our parents have adopted since we leave so much). It's great to be back with them after nearly a month away. And I can't express how lucky I feel that I live in Canada. Weve been to some amazing places but I really do love this city and am grateful at how easy and convenient life can be, living in North America.
Ciao bello/bella!!! Carm

Short but sweet...
Hey everyone! We are still in Budapest having a blast. We have worked out much of the kinks of being in a foreign country and are really starting to get in the swing of things. We played a show in Transylvania on the weekend which was for 3-thousand people outdoors (that's where the pic up top is from) and it was sooooooo much fun. We all really got into it and the crowd was great.
We have 3 more shows with the band coming up over the weekend with some radio interviews and solo performances with just me and Camille in between there. One of the shows is at an outdoor stage right beside Hero's Square (a beautiful monument in Hungary). It's gonna be packed and we are stoked. Today it's supposedly 40 degrees out, it has been scorching hot here. All in all, life is good and I wish you all lots of love and thanks for your support!

Back to Budpest
Hey folks! We are back in beautiful Budapest for the next few weeks to play some shows with our band for those of you who dont know. It's great to be back here. The last time we were here it was the winter time, now it's sunny and vibrant! The people here are being so good to us. We toured the DUNA TV television station, we are probably going to be playing on thier live show in two weeks. We will keep you posted on that. And we have our first show in Transylvania on Saturday night. It's going to be a big gig of almost 5000 people so we are very excited! And we have already got some cool press since being here. There was actually photographers waiting at the airport when we got here and an article the next day about our arrival! Needless to say, we could have looked better : )
We are slowly but surely trying to pick up some of the language here. Seretlek... that means I love you, kusanem sapen... that means thank you. I'm probably spelling this terribly wrong but I'm trying. It's so interesting being in a country where you dont speak the language. We are definetly at the mercy of people who are translating for us and those who speak English. We have had some moments of sheer confusion as to what is going on. But we are having a blast and hoping to see some more of Europe once our last show is done on the 28th of this month.
Vislat! That means see you later... excuse the spelling please! xo Carmen

My Favorite Thing To Do on a Saturday morning...
1. Sleep in!
2. Start playing my flute next to Camille's ear to wake her up... she loves when I do that ; )
3. Eat a yummy breakfast
4. Watch Sport of Kings (the TV show I used to be on)... the picture up top is of me on the show with the host Tommy Wolski
5. Read my current book in bed (right now it's a fluff book called 'Lipstick Jungle' but next I will tackle 'The Art of Hapiness' by the Dalai Lama... a gift from my Dad)
Today is a grey Saturday morning in Vancouver. I wish all of you a very happy weekend and Happy Canada Day tomorrow!!! Carmen

Boston Talk...
I realized I never wrote about Boston at all. It was a lot of fun... we played two gigs at the Music For Middlesex Charity event at Bentley College. One gig during the day, one during the night. We met sooooooo many people there, everyone was genuinely supportive of our music which means a lot. We sold a bunch of CD's and took lots of pictures with fans and new friends.
We performed on the FOX 25 morning show (the picture above is from the show). We had to be there at 7:30am, that's early to be singing, but it was good practice. We got interviewed before hand from the host of the morning show and it was funny... we came out of commercial break and the count down to when we were on air was silent so me and Camille both didn't realize we were on air and suddenly the women was asking us questions. I was just about to start talking to Camille and asking her if my hair was okay or some other silly question. That would have been embarrasing!
Anyway, it was a blast and I'm still trying to perfect my Boston accent. I pahked the cah at Hahvahd... I'll keep working on it... xo Carmen

My Ode to New York... (above is me and Cami at the Hostel 2 screening in NYC... what a scary movie!!!)
We are back home for about a week, having just returned from the Big Apple. All I can say is "I love New York!!!!!!". What a city. I can' t wait to go back. I don't know if it's the energy, the buzz of a city with about 4 times the amount of people than Vancouver. Or the feeling the city creates that anything can happen. Or maybe it's the Gemini in me who loves new and exciting things. Whatever it may be, NY is right up my alley. Then again, I dont know anyone who doesn't love New York. I'm not alone in my new adoration of the city that never sleeps.
I feel incredibly lucky that Camille and I get to see these places and the fact that it is for music is amazing. Thanks for being a part of the journey with us. This is such an industry of highs and lows. I realize we write often about the highs but with the good comes the bad. There have been numerous lonely moments spent worrying about the future. Thank heavens I have Cami... I don't know how solo artists do it!
Thanks again... lots of love, Carmen

Packing Light...
Were gearing up to go to the States again and play a few shows. It feels like as soon as I finally get my luggage unpacked, my laundry done and feel somewhat organized we have to go again, but I am definetly not complaining! I love that we get to travel and keep life interesting. I cant wait to play again, it's been a few weeks now and that feels like forever. We are going to be playing a gig in California (the Temecula Wine Festival) and then were flying to New York!!! I'm so excited. We are going to shoot a morning show that will probably air later on in June. That should be fun... I've only been to New York once and only for a few days, not nearly enough time for such a cool city.
As this trip may not be more than 2 weeks I definitely want to pack light. We say that every time but somewhow our luggage is completely filled to the brim on the way home. I've put up a picture at the top of us with our luggage at the end of a 2 month trip to LA and Texas. That is actually ours, our dad's and our tour managers but still, that was pretty bad! It's hard when you have two guitars to take though.
Anyways... we will keep you posted on when the morning show will be airing in the New York area. Thanks for reading! Carmi

New Song
I'm very excited... Camille and I have just written a song called 'Where's the Recycling Bin?'. It features our two new instruments, Camille and her Ukulele and me with my baby accordian. We might break the song out at our June 3rd gig at the Temecula Wine Festival. It's a cute little environmentaly friendly song. We're also learning a John Mayer song right now. He's great. Dont even get Camille started on him. She's a fan.
I got my flute back today from the repair shop. It got a little boo boo when we played the Billboard Underground showcase. It fell over in the second song and broke so I could'nt play it the whole rest of the gig. Talk about dissapointing. But Goldie (that's my flute's name) is all better now.
I will leave you with a picture of cupcakes I made when the Vancouver Canucks were in the playoffs. They have the old school logo on them. They were a hit at the game viewing party I attended that night.
Peace out my friends.... Carmen

Rainy day... (I'll begin with a cute pic of a wrinkle dog... not sure why)
It's rainy today and it does not sit well with me. I guess the rain makes me appreciate those sunny days even more. But enough about the weather, I find myself talking (or writing) a lot about the weather in my diary entries.
I was planning on going to the racetrack today. For those of you who dont know, I used to work on a TV show called Tommy Wolski's 'Sport of Kings'. I spent four years on that show and quit at the end of last season. I had to make the decision to just focus on music and end the day job. Scary, but there really was no other option. Sincet hen we have been travelling a lot and so it would have been impossible to juggle both. But the crew at the show are like family and they still support me very much. I wanted to go suprise them today but it is pouring rain and I'm fnding it hard to motivate myself to leave the house, let alone stand in the rain. We shall see I guess.
Other than that, were just getting stuff done around Vancouver. Writing, visiting family, getting things done we cant do while were away. We have a great support system of loved ones. We are very lucky in that sense. Our family are our biggest fans. I hope to one day be thanking them at the Grammy's... : )
Love y'all and thanks for your support! Carm

This and that...
Happy Mommy's Day to all the mothers out there!!! Here is us with our Mom, our Grandma, and our Great Aunt. Three generations together... I love these ladies!
This is the new Carmen... the Carmen that writes in her Diary page every few days, if not every day! Spring is in the air and I'm feeling much more productive lately. It's not that I'm an unproductive person, it's just that there is a difference between a) procrastinating till the last possible second to do something while dragging your feet after being told what to do and b) getting ahead of what needs to be done with a smile while being excited about the next task. Anyways, I digress...
There are some good thing on the horizon that keep me smilin'. Were in the June issue of Stuff. That is cool. And were gearing up for our tour in Europe. Tour dates will be coming along soon so keep checking back for those. I guess that only applies for you concert-goers based out of Europe... or for those of you who are die hard fans and plan on using your air miles to check us out abroad!!! Hint hint hint!
Camille and I are also working on individual Myspace pages. She's spreading her little wings and flying away from me... sniff sniff. Just kidding, it's kind of fun to do my own page. Anyway, we are going to go on a jog now to take advantage of this beautiful day.
Thanks for readin'... carm

Sunny Vancouver!
I cant tell you how nice it is to return to a sunny Vancouver! It was gorgeuous in LA and great here so far. Yes, so we are back in Van for a short while before we take off again for more shows. We have two big shows in the works that would be huge for us. I will tell you all about them if we get them. Keep your fingers crossed for us!!!
This recent trip to LA was awesome. We played at the Billboard Underground showcase which was a whole day of fliming and rehearsing and interviews. It was such an neat day. Everyone that worked there was so nice and really rooting for us to do well and be successful. Leading up to the showcase we happened to be rehearsing next Ozzy Ozbourne and his band which was very cool. We even got to sing the song 'Sweet Child of Mine' by Guns and Roses with the whole band! There is a picture above of us with Zakk Wylde (guitar god).
We did lots of singing while we were away. A rehearsal every day for three hours. Camille got a bit of a cold at the end of the trip so I had to do more singing at the last few rehearsals after the showcase, which was really good for me I think. I'm thinking I may take off and start a solo career...? Ha ha! Ya right! As much as it can be hard sometiems working so closely with your twin sister and being around them all the time, I wouldnt have it any other way! We got along really well this trip and had a blast.
Love you all though and thanks for readin'! Carm

Friday the 13th...
Hey folks, as mentioned above it's Friday the 13th and I'm waiting for something crazy, cool, and exciting to happen!!! I think Friday the 13th means it's gonna be a good day, I'm not buying in to the whole superstitious thing. Weve been having a great time here at home catching up with the family and seeing all of our friends. LA is approaching now though. Weve got a Billboard Underground showcase coming up the first week in May which should be a good experience.
Tonight the Canucks play the Dallas Stars again. Game two... if anyone watched the first game of the series it was pretty crazy. It went into a 5th OT period! Thank heavens we won. I didnt invest over 5 hours of my life to watch them lose. Go Nuckies!!!!!!!!! Above is a girls Canucks jersey that I want... so cute!
We went snowshoeing the other day at Grouse Mountain and it was a blast. I reccommend everyone try it at least one. Quite a nice Vancouver exerience before we leave for the States again. And the scenery while your walking is amazing, you are looking over the top ove Vancouver's skyline. Thanks for a great day Robin... sorry that it almost killed you!
Anyways... I hope you all have an amazing weekend and keep checking back for updates... a picture of snowshoeing is on the way... xo carmen

Home again, Home again...
Were back to good ol' Vancity... enjoying some down time to regroup and plan our next plot to take over the world! Mwah hah hah! Victory shall be mine!!!
Anyways... now that the whirlwind of the past two months has eased I can sum up our first experience on the road as amazing. We have learned a lot. We have grown, both as musicians and as people. It took returning home and re-evaluating to realize how much.
We got to see some cool shows in Austin... Amy Winehouse, Mika, Paula Cole. Paula Cole has such an amazing voice. It was very nice to be given a goosebumpy performance by her. I havent been given goosebumps for a while at a live show... it's great for getting the engines reved up making me want to do that for people when we perform.
Camille and I want to do a Heart cover. Weve been watching clips of them performing on You Tube. They are great, I love those ladies. I saw them perform in September and I would gladly shell out money to see them again.
Above is a picture from Austin. We are on the way to a show and riding in a bike cab. Good times...
Love y'all (Texas still lives on in me), Carm

Lone Star State
Camille has mentioned this in her diary entry already but I will too... we got tatoos! Little stars. It was my first one so kind of a big deal. I love it though.. check out the video of us getting them done on our Myspace video page.
We are loving Austin. It really is a music friendly city. Bands are playing in almost every club and people get into the music and are really supportive. We have another gig tonight, then two days of rehersals then another gig on Sunday. Music music music! Were looking foward to teaching the band a few new songs. I look forward to doing some new songs myself. Switch it up a bit... keep things interesting.
So plans have taken a turn... we are returning to LA after Austin for about 4 days. We have a few things being lined up for LA. I'll keep you posted on what those things are as they get confirmed. I'm sure the suspense is killing you... : ) And then after LA we are heading home! I can't wait to see my Mommy! It'll have been over a month and a half since we saw her last! I'm looking foward to seeing family and friends, drinking clamato juice, petting our kitties, eating good sushi, and relaxing.
Camille and I are going to go for a walk now. It's nice out again today and we want to catch some rays. Then we have to come back, go over a new song idea we want to teach the band and then it's time to get ready for the gig tonight. That's pretty much what our days consist of.
Thanks for listening! Carm

The Rise School
We had the chance to visit the Rise School of Houston a few days ago and I can't stop talking about it! It was one of the best things I have done in a very long time. The Rise school is a school for kids from around 10 months or so to 6 years old who have developmental disabilities (it also schools children without disabilities).
We arrived at the school and right away got to visit the 2-year-old class. Immedietly I fell in love with a little boy named Jean-Charles. He was so friendly and came up right away. I got to pick him up and take some pictures with him. He's sooooo cute... he was doing his pirate face in the picture above. That's why his lip is all curled up. We were all cracking up. Next we visited the infant class. Boy did I get my baby fill! Once again there were cute little munchkins to play with. My hands smelt like baby after which I swear should be a perfume or air freshener scent! Maybe I should patent that idea... hmmm...
Anyways, we visited several more classrooms and the kids were all so friendly. The teachers were great as well. They pointed out the fact that it was often the little boys that would come up to us right away and they said they thought they might be flirting! They start young these days! Just kidding...
All in all though, one of the most rewarding things I have done in a while.
All the best, Carmen

Hello my friends!
Well, LA is over for now. We have left there in one piece (I guess technically we have left there in two pieces). I digress...
To sum up the last week of the LA leg of the tour... lets see... we played a show at the Knitting Factory which was awesome. The only problem was that my flute (and our video camera) had been stolen and we only found out hours before the gig. It's a long story, I wont waste your time but needless to say I was very sad. It was still a fun gig though sans flute. It was a good turnout and we played with some cool bands. Next was Disneyland which was awesome! I felt like a kid again. The only problem was that I wanted to go on scary rides. Few rides at Disneyland are in the ball park of scary.
The last night in Los Angeles was definelty one of the best of the trip. We went to to the Night of 100 Stars at the Beverly Hills Hotel. We got to walk the red carpet which was pretty insane. My cheeks hurt from smiling so much for so long. We got to do some interviews as well and talk about our album which was a highlight of the night. The picture I posted is from that night getting interviewed.
So here we are in Texas now. So far so good. I got a new flute!!! She is named 'Goldie' because the lip piece (the circular raised part I blow through) is actually plated with gold instead of silver. I thought it looked cool. But if anyone happens to find a gemeinhardt flute in a black box (with blue felt lining on the inside) in the Santa Monica area please contact me!!!!! Stay tuned for pictures with me and Goldie... I'll post them soon.
Anyway... I could write more but Camille is anxious to write her Diary entry. I guess I'll share the computer...
All the best and keep on readin'! Carmen

Dear Diary,
I can't believe that we leave in LA in only one week! It has gone by incredibly quickly and I have to admit, I'm a little sad to say good-bye. I really do like LA and would consider moving here. I actually like the idea of splitting time between LA and Vancouver. Vancouver is home, and to me, one of the most beautiful places in the world (and I've been to quite a few places).
It hardly feels like winter months still here. Today was filled with more sunny skies, although not as hot as the past few days. I could get used to this weather. And we have friends visiting us this coming up week and are going to go to Disneyland! I have only been once when I was about 6 years old so I barely remember anything. I am so excited. Should I be embarassed about this fact?
We are gearing up for our last gig in town at the Knitting Factory. One last time to rawk out with our band here (though I believe we will play with them again in Las Vegas in May). Each one of them are extremely talented and have their own personalities that crack me up. I think humour is a must for bandmates and they are all hilarious.
Better go though... thanks for taking the time to read this! And keep checkin' back!

Hello my friends!
(above is a picture of a potential dress for the Night of 100 Stars Oscar viewing party... let me know what you think...)
It is the morning after Valentine's Day and I am nursing a fondue hangover. We spent Valentine's Day with Joe, our tour manager, and his work partner Nadia Dawn eating chocolate and cheese fondue. It was great. Now the gym is calling me...
We play three gigs in a row starting tonight... looking forward to that. We have never played 4 shows in one week and now it's going to really feel like a tour. We'll have to warm up our vocals lots and get good sleep. I love it!
One thing I will take from my time in Los Angeles is to never complain about Vancouver traffic again. Even at it's worst it does not compare to the chaos that is driving in LA. It takes an hour to get anywhere. There is no such thing as a quick trip. In Vancity you can zip across town reasonably quickly, as it is not that big of a city. Here, it is painfully spread out. But with such a large population, what can you expect. So mark my words... no more complaining from me about Vancouver traffic!

One more sleep...
Here is a scenic shot of LA... you can see the Hollywood sign in the dstance.
Yo! Only one more sleep until the Grammy's! I'm feeling pretty prepared. We've got the dress, the shoes, the handbags, the tan and the hair and make-up booked. This should be quite the experience. I feel like we are going on a great year too. We get to see John Mayer, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and I hope the Dixie Chicks perform.
The other night we went to a pre-Grammy event for Country Music which was neat. We saw Leanne Rhimes perform as well as Brian McKnight do a duet with Deana Carter (to name a few). Music is in the air in this town right now and it's great to be in the middle of it.
It is another beautiful day here in Los Angeles (sorry folks who are in the midst of rain and grey skies... I dont mean to keep rubbing it in!). Lastly, I just want to say thanks to everyone who has wished us well and are thinking about us as we try to make things happen in the US. We really appreciate it. It makes us feel warm and fuzzy. I'm being serious. I am outta here though... gotta let Cami-doodle write before we head out for the day!

I am happy to announce that our first gig is complete and it was a success. No major screw ups... our band really came together and we had our first chance to rock out in LA. Our next gig is next week at San Diego State College which should be interesting. An American college campus.... cool!
Today we are going to meet our PR team.... they seem like a great group of people who have already got us into Stuff magazine (the May/June edition). Then they are taking us to get fitted for dresses for the Grammy's! Exciting stuff. Hopefully we both find something we fall in love with.
We have to go now though... sorry this is so quick. I'll leave you with a picture of Jessica Simpson and me standing in the background. This was from Saturday night leaving Hyde nightclub. I'm the one in the back wearing white. I met her and her hairstylist Ken Paves and they were both really nice.
Love you all and I'll write more later... Carmen

La-la Land!
Here's a picture of a place called 'The Alley' that we shopped at. It reminds me of Thailand or Mexico here... lots of small stores selling tonnes of things for cheap cheap cheap!
Well folks... we are finally in LA starting our musical adventure! We got in on the 1st of February and yesterday had our first rehersal with our wonderful band. They are a talented group of gentlemen. Right now we are actually on a break during our second rehersal. We have one more on Monday, then we have our first gig on Tuesday.
This morning we managed to squeeze in some shopping too which was great. I feel like I'm on vacation here, the weather is amazing. It's 83 degrees today! We just sat outside in the sun and I already feel like I'm getting a tan... my skin had almost forgotten the feeling of sunshine! There is lots going on this month in LA... gigs, Grammy's, Pollstar Awards... we will do our best to keep you up to date on it all!
Gotta go... time to run the set again (music talk for go through our songs in the order we will play them at gigs... many of you may know that though).

What To Pack...
Four days before we go and I still have yet to open my suitcase. In fact, I haven't really thought about what I'm going to bring. It's hard to pack though for a trip that I'm unsure of the duration and locations. This leads me to believe that I should pack light and buy lots while I'm away! Good plan Carmen! Seriously though... I think I'll bring items that are tried and true, such as -
-my bracelet that has three little pictures in it of Camille and me, Camille, Kelly and me, and one of me and my boyfriend (for when I get homesick)
- a pair of jeans I've had since about grade 10 which I keep around just so I can feel good about myself for still fitting into them
-my lululemon work out pants that I wear way too often
Sorry if I've put any of you to sleep here... just needed to vent about the packing that is ahead of me!

Gearin' Up
So, as you can tell from the tour page of our website or from Myspace, we are officially heading to LA February 1st. I'm not gonna lie. I'm pretty darned excited! I'm most excited about playing shows in California and attending the Grammy's! That has been a dream of ours for a long time. Well... the dream is to actually win a Grammy. But we can start with attending them I guess.
Preparation has included practicing, writing, seeing our friends and family before we go, and hitting the gym. They are working us pretty hard at our gym to get us Red Carpet ready! I don’t mind working out, once I'm in the swing of things. My favorite is running, which unfortunately comes to a halt during rainy winters in Vancouver. Ideally, I'd like to be doing competitive 10km runs every month or two but I'm just not dedicated enough to run when it's pouring rain.
I also wanted to say a big hello to my little buddies Marisa and Carmen. (Yes, that is correct... I have a mini me... someone else named Carmen!). They are the two Halloween little witches in the picture up top. Apparently Marisa checks our website frequently and that means a lot to Camille and I. It actually keeps me in check and reminds me I need to be updating you guys more often! So hello you two! Thanks for your support Marisa and we'll get a picture of all of us together on the website one of these days.
Lots of love to you all...

Happy New Year!!!
I just wanted to wish all of you who have taken the time to read my diary a very Happy New Year (sorry it's so delayed!).
I have decided to go without a new years resolution this year. Instead I am writing my annual 'Things To Do' in 2007 list. I was able to check off about half of my list last year, so some things have been carried over to this year. These include taking French classes (I can speak French reasonably well but want to keep learning a language), going to a Madonna concert (come to Vancouver!!! sheesh!), and performing at an open mike night by myself (I just couldn't shake Camille last year... kidding!).
Musically my goals are to practice, practice, practice, and write, write, write!!! I have a feeling these will be reoccurring goals for the rest of my life. And of course I want to become a better performer! I love playing gigs though... it's a little harder to stay motivated to practice and write sometimes. I'm lucky that I have a cool twinnie like Camille to keep me focused!
All the best in 2007... xo Carmen

I love the Holidays!!!
Hey guys, it's been way too long since I wrote. I was in Hungary the last time I wrote and that was awesome but now I'm back home for Christmas. Yipee!!!
I still havent done ANY Christmas shopping yet which has me a little stressed out but that's not supposed to be the purpose of the holiday season is it? I dont have too much to get anyway. And I am sticking to a list this season I've decided. No impulse buying for me this year! We'll see if I can actually stick to this plan.
I'm pretty excited. Today we found out we are playing on the BCTV morning show on Channel 11. We play on Sunday at 12:30pm. I used to intern at BCTV in my BCIT journalism school days. I had a great time there and am looking forward to seeing the old stompin' grounds. Wish us luck!
Anyways... I will try to write again before or during Christmas. I wish you all a very happy holidays. I hope that you all get a chance to be with family and friends and pets and eat tasty food and look at Christmas lights and smell the scent of gingerbread cookies! Wow... sorry. That's me on a Christmas rampage.

Mmmm... Goulash!
First I have to say, I tried some Goulash here and it was divine. And I have nothing but good things to say about Budapest so far. The people here, especially the people we are working with for our video, are so polite and friendly.
As for the video, it sounds like it's going to be a good one! Without giving too much away, lets just say we will be outdoors for a fair bit of the video. I will be wearing a lovely dress that one of the stylists made herself (I'm impressed!) and Camille will be wearing a couple different black outfits that seem very European to me. Camille will be doing some scenes with a guy and I will be outdoors by myself and representing more the feelings that Camille is going through. It's kind of hard to explain but trust me on this one... it's going to be gorgeous.
We will also have to fall backwards into water for the video and are off now to a bath house to practice. This should be interesting. Wish us luck!
Thanks for joining me on the journey by reading this... all the best, Carmi

Budapset Here We Come!!!
This diary entry will be short and sweet but Camille and I take off for Budapest today! I've heard only good things about this country and am looking forward to experiencing it myself. This trip is going to be jam packed with stuff... I believe we are playing 4 shows, shooting a video and doing some photos and interviews in between. Hopefully we'll sell some CD's too! We've got a great team of people helping us out over there and we hope we can exceed their expectations.
As usual Camille and I are trying to fit in way too much before we go. Since our plane doesnt leave until 6:30pm that to us means we can leave most of our packing until today as well as going to the gym (me), a guitar lesson (Camille) and running about 20 other miscellaneous errands. Oh well. We work best under preassure.
I best go now... we'll try to write while were away! Take care everyone and thanks for taking the time to read this!

Ode to Vancouver
The countdown is on now folks to December when we head to Florida to begin our tour! In case this is news to you, Camille and I will be going to Florida around December 15th for several months. Then we will be heading to LA for a few months, then to Boston again, with Texas and New York squeezed in there somewhere. Exciting times!
With all this travel ahead of us though, that means no more Vancouver for some time. I cant say that I'm dissapointed to miss out on another rainy winter season but there are several things I will miss. I really do love this city and the effects growing up here have had on who I am as a person. For example... I like the fact that I say sorry probably too often and could be considered TOO nice at times. Us Canadians, and I think even more so, those of us from the West Coast, are polite and I like that fact. I like the laid back West Coast attitiude that we share as a people. I like that I can't go one block without there being somewhere I can get a coffee. I love how active our city is. There are always 10km runs going on that I take part in when I'm not too lazy. And people walk places. I like that we get to experience every season. We can go from hot to cold with the best of them with lots of rain in between (maybe I'm not so much a fan of the rain, but at least we dont have much snow. I like snow for about 3 days).
But most of all, I love Vancouver for the fact that this is where my family is and my memories are. We are so lucky to have such a good support network here. There are so many people who we love that are rooting for us, so I hope we do you guys proud!
Lovin' my Vancity... Carmen Autumn Thomas

Tales from Boston
Well my friends… it is good to be back home, but dang was it good to be in Boston too! Camille and I had a blast! Life pretty much consisted of playing, rehearsing, and sight seeing. And of course shopping.
Boston is a great city where it really seems as though people enjoy going out and appreciating live music. It was pretty cool to have people dancing along to our music and getting into it. Some people were even singing along! I have no idea what they were singing, as I doubt anyone of them actually know our music (yet). For all I know they were mouthing the words ‘get off the stage!’ but it still looked good to me from up on stage! Haha.
Another highlight was the radio interview we did for an AM station out of Brockton. The show is called ‘On The Mark’ and is hosted by this guy Mark who is actually a detective during the day! The guy is hilarious… we couldn’t have asked for our first ever radio interview to go any better. We got to sing 2 songs acoustically and got to talk about the CD, our upcoming show, and other random topics like whom our favorite celebrities are. I had to throw out Matt Damon of course, as he is a local Bostonian.
All in all it was a success. There are so many good people who helped us out when we were there… you guys know who you are. We cant thank you enough! We are now gearing up into song writing mode before we head off to Florida in December. I think I’m going to enjoy the warm weather. It’s pretty darned dreary here in Vancity.
And last but not least… the CD is finally done! We had a little printing error and had to get them re-printed but now we are just adjusting the website so you can buy them through the there. Thanks for your patience everyone… and seriously… they really are almost available! Keep checking back!
Take care dudes and we’ll write again soon! Carm

Acoustic vs. ‘The Band’
“Camille and I have a show coming up tomorrow… it’s JUST an acoustic set.”
This is what I have a tendency to say to people to describe gigs we have when it is only Camille and me, no band accompanying us. I don’t know why that is. My guess is that I personally enjoy playing with the whole band, more so than the solo gigs, so I downplay the acoustic shows. But I have decided to change that philosophy! My turnabout comes after talking to a friend at our last acoustic gig. She told me she prefers shows where it’s more broken down. Just a singer (or in our case, singers) with their instruments. Maybe I tend to downplay the acoustic sets because it’s a bit more vulnerable. There isn’t the band rocking out behind you deflecting some of the attention.
Regardless though, I have now seen the light! Halleluiah! I am going to be darned proud of our acoustic sets! Who needs a band?! (Okay… that’s going a little too far). But I think it’s a matter of personal preference and just because acoustic sets aren’t mine doesn’t mean they aren’t someone else’s. And whose to say I wont change my mind in a few weeks/ months/ years?
Acoustic and lovin’ it,
Carmen

Show Time
Well folks...I have to start with the fact I am very happy to have my twin back safe and sound and in one piece! She's a grown girl and can handle herself but you can't help get a little worried when your twin is across the globe all alone! But now she is back and that means back to work!
September was a great month I have to say. I call it the 'month of a million concerts'. That is because I was able to go to 4 concerts...the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Heart (SO GOOD!), John Mayer/ Sheryl Crow, and just last night Elton John. Each of these were shows I really wanted to see and each one of them taught me something invaluable. I have to say though, Heart was my favorite simply because they are such an influence on Camille and me. Anne was rocking out on the flute for a few songs which was great, and Nancy sure can play guitar! I would LOVE to play a song with those two one day. What a dream come true that would be.
Today I am excited to finally set up my iTunes account and start buying some music digitally! It's the way of the future and I am jumping on board! My credit card should be feeling a little scared right now...ha ha. I better go start selecting my purchases...hmmm, do I start with the new Red Hot Chili Peppers album or some old Heart tunes???
Take care, Carmen

Since it's been so long since we wrote I thought I'd fill you in on the music video we shot. It was two VERY long days but still lots of fun. No one got very much sleep that weekend but people still managed to make the best of it. It was our first time ever doing a video and at first I was a little nervous but it's funny how quickly it becomes comfortable. We got to rock out with our band too (actually it wasn't the band we perform with regularly, except for our guitar player Ryan, but they sure looked as if they'd been playing with us for years!). That was probably my favorite part... the band stuff. We were in an old warehouse in New Westminster and we had huge fans blowing on us and we just got to dance around and perform our song over and over. I have to admit... I felt like a rock star!
We wore a few different outfits for the shoot... it's funny though... we wore these dresses for the last part (the performance part with the band) and we were about to go back to set but something just didn't feel right about the outfits. They were a little too cutesy. So, Camille and I along with our make-up artist Brittney (who was absolutely amazing by the way), all ripped the bottoms of both of the dresses. Two minutes before were on camera and were ripping our dresses! It was a risky move but we liked them much better in the end.
Other than that, we got a new kitty Maximus (Max for short) who is as cute as a button. We love him soooo much! He keeps us entertained, that's for sure.
Better go give him some attention though... and just so you know, we are going to be writing lots from now on so keep checking the site for new entries!
All the best!

Where to start... there is lots on the go right now and we couldn't be happier! As we speak our first EPK is being edited by the great team at Digital Interference. They have filmed tones of footage... a recent gig, us recording in the studio, they even filmed us at a photo shoot! We can't wait to get it back and as soon as we do we'll get it up here so you can all see it. We have no doubt that Colin and Meagan are doing great work!
We also took some of our own footage during the MANY hours we spent in the studio. Were working on getting some of that edited so you can have a behind the scenes experience of our recording process. We had some good times there... I can't wait to look through the footage.
There's no official date set yet for the release of our debut album but the countdown is on! It's been a labor of love so keep your eyes and ears open.
I hope you are all having an amazing day and thank you for taking the time to let me share my day with you...

All in all, life is good and I wish you all lots of love and thanks for your support!
xo Carmen
